James Tavernier: Police investigate racist abuse of Rangers captain

Police Scotland are following a positive line of enquiry after Rangers captain James Tavernier was racially abused on social media.
The 27-year-old full-back was sent a message on Instagram, which he posted with a shoulder-shrugging emoji.
Police confirmed a complaint was made.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard condemned the abuse on Friday, saying: "It is sad that racism is a talking point in the game. I have spoken to James and he is okay. Racism has no part in football."
Last week, Englishman Tavernier took part in a PFA campaign to boycott social media for 24 hours and shared a post calling for social media companies to do more to tackle racism.
Earlier this month, a Hibernian fan was jailed for 100 days for confronting Tavernier at the side of the pitch.
And Motherwell banned a supporter for throwing a coin at the Rangers player during his side's 3-0 win at Fir Park later that week.
