West Ham are interested in signing Fenerbahce captain Hasan Ali Kaldirim.

The Hammers have spoken to the player's agent and the BBC has been told Turkey international Kaldirim is keen on a move to the Premier League.

The left-back, who was linked with West Ham in 2017, has a 5m euro (£4.42m) release clause in his contract, which expires in 12 months' time.

Edimilson Fernandes has left West Ham for German side FSV Mainz with forward Lucas Perez moving to Alaves in Spain.

The fees in both transfers have not been disclosed.

Born in Germany, Kaldirim, 29, has been at Fenerbahce since 2012, having previously played for Kayserispor.

Kaldirim has 30 international caps for Turkey and is the only Fenerbahce player in the national squad for this week's Euro 2020 qualifiers against France and Iceland.

He has scored five goals in 224 Super Lig appearances for Fenerbahce.

All change for the Hammers

After guiding the club to their first top-10 finish since 2013, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has begun reshaping his squad.

The club have already released Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian, while bringing in additional goalkeeping cover through Roberto and David Martin, son of former Hammers skipper Alvin, on free transfers from Espanyol and Millwall respectively.

Swiss international Fernandes - who spent last season on loan at Serie A club Fiorentina - made 48 first-team appearances for the Hammers, whom he joined from Sion in 2016.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Mainz.

Perez, who was signed from Arsenal for a reported £4m in August 2018, has joined Spanish Primera Division club Alaves.

The Spaniard, 30, scored six goals in 19 appearances for the Hammers.

He became the first West Ham substitute in 19 years to score twice after coming on as a substitute in a Premier League match when he netted a brace in the 3-1 win over Cardiff City in December 2018.
