Stevenage have signed Chris Stokes after the defender gave 14 days' notice to terminate his contract with Bury.
Stokes, 28, opted to leave the Shakers, who are in the process of trying to establish a company voluntary agreement to help overcome financial issues.
The League Two side have also signed midfielder Charlie Carter, 22, from Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee.
Forest Green midfielder Paul Digby, 24, then became Stevenage's third Tuesday signing, also for an undisclosed fee.
The terms of the deals for all three players are undisclosed.
Full-back Stokes has played 263 first-team games for five clubs including Forest Green Rovers and Coventry City.
He made 43 appearances last season in all competitions for Bury, scoring four goals.
Carter joined Chesterfield from Woking last summer, scoring four goals in 20 appearances during the 2018-19 National League campaign.
Digby came through Barnsley's academy as a youngster and has also played for Ipswich and Mansfield.
