Hearts: Arnaud Djoum leaves for Al-Raed and Marcus Godhino for Zwickau

Cameroon's Arnaud Djoum has left Hearts to sign for Saudi Arabian club Al-Raed, with Canada's Marcus Godinho moving to Zwickau in Germany's third tier.

Midfielder Djoum made 130 appearances in four years for the Scottish Premiership side, while right-back Godhino played 20 times in two years.

Their new clubs announced the signings on their return from national duty.

Cameroon reached the Africa Cup of Nations last 16 and Canada lost in the Gold Cup quarter-finals.

Djoum, who has 20 caps for his country and joined Hearts after leaving Lech Poznan, started the 2-0 group win over Guinea-Bissau and the 0-0 draw with Benin but was substituted in both games.

The 30-year-old did not feature in the goalless draw with group winners Ghana or the 3-2 last 16 defeat by Nigeria.

Djoum joins a side that finished eight in the Pro League under manager Besnik Hasi last season, while Godhino moves to a team who were seventh in former United States midfielder Joe Enochs' first season as head coach.

The 22-year-old, who had been under contract until 2020, has signed a deal with Zwickau until 2021 after starting in Canada's 4-0 win over Martinique, a 7-0 thrashing of Cuba and 3-2 quarter-final loss to Haiti.

Godhino joined Hearts in 2016 from semi-professional club Vaughan Azzurri in his homeland and played 14 times last season.

Zwickau sporting director Toni Wachsmuth told his club website: "We are convinced that he will be able to perform well in Der 3 as well."
