Reading have signed Norway's Amalie Eikeland and Netherlands youth international Maxime Bennink ahead of the new Women's Super League season.

Winger Eikeland, 23, was part of Norway's squad at this summer's Women's World Cup, coming on as a substitute against England in their last-16 tie.

She has signed a two-year contract with the Royals after leaving Norwegian outfit IL Sandviken.

Bennink, 22, has joined on a one-year deal from Dutch side PEC Zwolle.

"After watching Maxime, I knew she would definitely fit in and strengthen my squad," said Reading boss Kelly Chambers., external

"She is a very young, direct forward player who will give me a different dimension in my front line.

"I'm excited to finally bring Amalie to Reading. It is a signing that has taken a while because of the World Cup, but she was one I was prepared to wait for.

"She is a very exciting and talented player who definitely strengthens our attacking threat."
