Port Vale have signed Leicester City defender Mitchell Clark on loan until the end of the season.

It is Clark's second loan spell at Vale Park, having made 45 appearances last season in all competitions.

The 20-year-old signed a three-year deal with Leicester on his return to the Premier League club.

"Mitch can play either side and we know from when he was with us last season, he provides good cover on both sides," manager John Askey said.

New directors

Meanwhile, Vale have announced the make up of a new board of directors. Co-owner Kevin Shanahan has stepped down as co-chairman to focus on his ambassadorial role, with Claire Halket appointed as the club's new chief operating officer and Kate Beardmore the new vice-chair.

Carol Shanahan heads up the new board as co-owner and chair, with Colin Garlick remaining as chief executive. Ian Lewis, Marian Humphreys and Rob Moorhouse are the other directors.
