Motherwell have accepted an improved offer of £1.5m from Hull City for 19-year-old forward James Scott.

The Championship club had an initial bid of £750,000 for the teenage forward rejected on Thursday.

Scott, who is contracted until summer 2022, is now travelling south to discuss personal terms.

He has become a regular for the Fir Park club this season, having broken into Stephen Robinson's first team at the end of the last campaign.

Motherwell, who sit third in the Scottish Premiership, have already lost on-loan striker Devante Cole during the January transfer window, while main attacker Christopher Long was injured earlier in the month in a win over Aberdeen.

Scott, who is used on the wing and through the middle as a front three, has six goals in 28 appearances this term.

The news of his likely move to Hull follows the sale of Poland winger Kamil Grosicki to Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion.
