Port Vale defenders James Gibbons and Leon Legge have signed new deals with the promotion-chasing League Two club.

Vale skipper Legge, 34, has signed a further year's contract, tying him to Vale Park until June 2021.

Full-back Gibbons, 21, has signed a two-year contract until June 2022.

Legge, signed from Cambridge United in July 2018, was appointed captain by boss John Askey in October and has played every minute so far in 2019-20, scoring four goals in 42 appearances.

Vale are eighth in League Two going into the coronavirus break, a point shy of a play-off place with nine games left.
