Dejan Lovren: Liverpool defender close to Zenit St Petersburg move
- Published
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is close to joining Russian club Zenit St Petersburg for a fee near to £11m.
The Croatia international, 31, has made just 10 league appearances this season for the new Premier League champions.
Lovren, signed from Southampton for £20m in July 2014, was part of the Reds squad who won the Champions League in 2019.
He has made 131 league appearances, scoring five goals, but has played just three times in 2020.
His Liverpool contract runs until June 2021, but the club have an option to extend it by a year, and plan to do so if the move to Zenit does not go through and he is still at Anfield when the summer transfer window closes.
