Steven Fletcher scored 13 goals for Sheffield Wednesday last season
Steven Fletcher has been offered a one-year contract by Celtic, with manager Neil Lennon confirming that the club have held talks with his agent.
The 33-year-old Scotland striker rejected a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday, but has been offered longer-term contracts by two of their English Championship rivals.
No agreement has been reached between the 33-time capped forward and Celtic.
"We're in talks; nothing is confirmed," Lennon told Sky Sports News.
"We have been linked with a few [strikers] so it's obviously an area we want to add in. We are spinning a few plates and if we can get a quality one in it will help us.
"It would be really good to add another one, just for squad depth and competition."
Celtic's offer comes with the option of a further year.
Fletcher, who began his career with Hibernian before moves to Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers, spent four years with Wednesday after leaving Sunderland.
He scored 13 goals in 30 appearances last season as Wednesday finished in 16th place.
