Cheltenham Town caused an upset as they knocked out League One side Peterborough United to reach the Carabao Cup second round.

Liam Sercombe scored the only goal of the game as he found the net just before the hour mark from long range.

Earlier, Ryan Broom and Joe Ward went close to giving Posh an early lead as they pressed forward in attack.

Siriki Dembele forced a save from Josh Griffiths late on as Peterborough tried for a leveller but Cheltenham held on.
