Newport County have signed Swindon Town forward Scott Twine on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old has scored twice in 34 appearances for Swindon, last season's League Two champions.
Twine, who made his senior Swindon debut in 2017, featured on 10 occasions in 2019-20.
His arrival follows that of 25-year-old defender Liam Shephard, who was a free agent after leaving Forest Green and has agreed a one-year deal., external
Newport manager Michael Flynn feels Swindon-born Twine, who has previously had loan stints at Waterford and Chippenham Town, will benefit from a spell at Rodney Parade.
"He's enjoyed a really good pre-season with Swindon and I've seen and heard positive things about him. I'm sure we can play a big role in his development," Flynn said., external
Shephard follows in the footsteps of dad Garry and brother Corey by signing for the Exiles, where he had been on trial.
The former Wales Under-21 international right-back made 67 appearances for Forest Green, while he has also played for Yeovil Town and Peterborough United.
"Liam has impressed me during his time with us in pre-season and I'm really pleased that we've been able to get this deal over the line," said Flynn.
"He's at a great age, knows all about this league and has a lot of experience which is always a big bonus. He operates well defensively and I feel he can offer us a lot going forward this season too."
Newport have previously signed Bristol City striker Saikou Janneh on loan as well as former Plymouth forward Ryan Taylor and centre-back David Longe-King ahead of the 2020-21 League Two campaign.
