Callum Paterson: Sheffield Wednesday sign Cardiff City utility player
- Published
Sheffield Wednesday have signed Scotland international Callum Paterson from Championship rivals Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.
Paterson, who has won 12 caps for his country, joined Cardiff in 2017 as a right-back, but has been used more often as a striker and midfielder.
The 25-year-old had not featured in the first team for the Welsh side at all this season.
Paterson's Owls contract was not due to expire until the summer of 2022.
While the move was being finalised, Paterson was left out of Cardiff's squad for Saturday's home defeat against Reading.
