Cardiff City have signed goalkeeper Dillon Phillips and brought in Leicester City centre-back Filip Benkovic on loan.

Phillips, 25, has joined for an undisclosed fee having been a regular in the Championship for Charlton Athletic last season.

Benkovic, 23, has signed on loan for the rest of the season.

The Croatia international joined Leicester for a reported fee of £13m in August 2018 from Dynamo Zagreb.

But he has made only one League Cup appearance for the Foxes and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Celtic and had Championship experience with Bristol City last term, making 10 league appearances and scoring twice.

He will replace Aden Flint at Cardiff after he joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the rest of the season.

Phillips will compete with Alex Smithies and Joe Day for the goalkeeper's shirt at the Cardiff City Stadium, following Neil Etheridge's move to Birmingham City earlier in the window.
