- Published
Atalanta progressed to the Champions League knockout stage for the second successive season with victory at Dutch giants Ajax on Wednesday.
Substitute Luis Muriel scored the decisive goal for the Italians five minutes from time, rounding goalkeeper Andre Onana to slot home.
Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch had been sent off five minutes before Atalanta snatched the lead.
Atalanta go through as Group D runners-up behind Liverpool.
Last season they reached the quarter-finals of the competition on their Champions League debut.
Atalanta were minutes away from reaching the last four on that occasion but two late goals for Paris St-Germain sent the French champions through.
