Joe Allen: Wales midfielder returns for Stoke Under-23s after nine months out
- Published
Wales midfielder Joe Allen played 75 minutes on his return after nine months out with an Achilles injury.
Allen, who was hurt in a Championship win over Hull on 7 March, played for Stoke's Under-23s in a 4-3 Premier League 2 win over West Brom on Monday.
Allen's return will provide a big boost to Wales before the delayed European Championships next summer.
"Hopefully this will be the final part of his build-up," Stoke boss Michael O'Neill said.
