League One Fleetwood Town have signed forward Kyle Vassell on loan from Championship side Rotherham United until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old joined the Millers from Blackpool in the summer of 2018 and has scored six goals in 63 appearances.

"He's an exciting signing, everything he's about is the way we want to play," interim boss Simon Wiles said.

"Kyle brings physicality, pace, and has a real hunger and desire to succeed. He ticks a lot of boxes for me."

Meanwhile, Carl Johnston has signed a new contract to the summer of 2022, while team-mate Shayden Morris has agreed a deal until 2023.

Johnston, 18, made his debut in September during Fleetwood's 3-1 Papa John's Trophy win against Carlisle United.

He has since spent the majority of the season on loan with non-league side Farsley Celtic, turning out 14 times.

Morris, 19, has the option of a further year with the club in his new deal.
