Benfica's Gedson Fernandes ends Spurs loan to join Galatasaray

Galatasaray have signed Gedson Fernandes on loan until the end of the season after the Benfica midfielder's loan at Tottenham Hotspur was ended.
Fernandes, 22, was boss Jose Mourinho's first signing at Spurs, joining on an 18-month deal in January 2020.
However, the Portugal midfielder did not start a single Premier League game.
Third-choice goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, 29, has also gone on loan for the rest of the campaign, joining Spanish La Liga side Elche.
The Argentina keeper joined Tottenham from Southampton in August 2017 and has played 37 games for Spurs in all competitions.
His most productive campaign came in 2019-20 when, with first-choice Hugo Lloris absent with an elbow injury, he made 25 appearances including 18 in the Premier League and four in the Champions League.
But Gazzaniga has not played at all since March after Spurs signed Joe Hart in the summer - with the former England keeper featuring in seven Europa League matches and two FA Cup ties in 2020-21.
Gazzaniga joins an Elche side who are second-bottom of Spain's top flight and in danger of relegation.
Earlier on Monday Fernandes, who recently tested positive for Covid-19, reportedly travelled by a special plane and was met, external by an ambulance on his arrival in Turkey.

Fernandes made four starts in a total of 14 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham.
