Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Bristol City: Rovers' inconsistent form continues in goalless draw with Robins

Blackburn Rovers' inconsistent form continued as they played out a goalless draw against Bristol City at Ewood Park.
In a first half of few chances, Adam Armstrong put a shot wide for Rovers, while Nahki Wells went close for the visitors when he struck a long-range effort wide.
Lewis Holtby chipped in towards the onrushing Ben Brereton as Blackburn looked to get off the mark, but his follow-up header cleared the bar.
The visitors almost took all three points late on when Famara Diedhiou fired a long-range strike which Rovers keeper Thomas Kaminski tipped on to the post.
The result means Blackburn remain in 15th and have won just once in their past 11 Championship games.
Coming into their match against Bristol City, Tony Mowbray's side had gone five games without a win at home and they rarely threatened in a quiet first half.
Blackburn's inconsistent form of late was made worse as they kicked off without striker Bradley Dack who suffered a second anterior cruciate knee ligament injury in just over a year.
City, who are 13th, have fared better since the appointment of Nigel Pearson, winning three of their five games in the lead up to their trip to Lancashire, yet Diedhiou's late strike was the closest they came to threatening a fourth win from six.
Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"There's 90% of what we need. We're just lacking that individuality, that bit of class that the teams at the top end of the table have.
"It wasn't a tight game. It was one-sided but we couldn't break it down which was frustrating.
"There were enough chances for us to score, even if it would have been a scruffy goal, but it just wasn't meant to be."
Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol:
"In the first half we know that we cleared the ball away a little bit too easily and it was difficult to get some flow to our game.
"They're a good possession-based side and we had to work hard out of possession, but in the second half we were able to give them a more difficult problem to solve in terms of breaking us down.
"It was a dogged performance and one which the players should be proud of in the sense that we've lost too many games this year."
