Luton Town scored three times in 15 second-half minutes as they came from 2-0 down to beat Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

The Robins looked to be on course for a first win in eight matches when Nahki Wells and Adam Nagy put them in command before the break.

But James Collins glanced Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's near-post corner past goalkeeper Daniel Bentley to give Luton hope, before Elijah Adebayo smartly guided another Dewsbury-Hall delivery in off the post.

Harry Cornick completed the turnaround six minutes later, pouncing on a loose ball in the area to shoot low into the corner.

City full debutant Tommy Conway thought he had rescued a point for the hosts with three minutes left but was flagged offside after scrambling in from close range.

The result extends the Hatters' unbeaten run to four matches and lifts them to 11th in the table.

Bristol City, meanwhile, remain in 18th after squandering a half-time lead for the second time in five days.

Manager Nigel Pearson said on Saturday that he "certainly hopes" to extend his stay with the club beyond the end of the season, but they have now lost seven of his 13 matches in charge.

Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told BBC Radio Bristol:

"It really does illustrate exactly where we are at the moment in terms of the depth of character - or lack of it - that we have.

"It's a painful experience to go through and, I'm sure, to watch.

"We played our way into the game, we created good opportunities and came in at half-time 2-0. But to concede three really poor goals with a bit of a whimper, if I'm honest, really illustrates where we are collectively.

"I think our players look a bit shell shocked at the moment and look as though they're hoping for the season to finish. That's a terrible thing to have to say, but I believe that's how they look."

Luton Town boss Nathan Jones BBC Radio Three Counties Radio:

"We just didn't do the basics well first half. We're a side built on doing the basics well.

"The second half we were more us. We were on the front foot, we were aggressive and we went after them. There was only going to be one winner second half.

"On the balance of everything, it was thoroughly deserved, although it did look a game of two halves."
