West Ham 1-1 Manchester United: Man Utd held to draw
- Published
Manchester United's bid for a place in the Champions League took a blow after Grace Fisk scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser for West Ham.
Ella Toone had opened the scoring with an overhead kick from close range shortly after half-time.
But Fisk rose highest to latch on to Katerina Svitkova's corner in the 93rd minute.
Manchester City are three points behind third-placed United, after beating Reading earlier, with a game in hand.
West Ham, who have earned just two points from their last 24 available, defended resolutely throughout but watched United enjoy the lion's share of possession and chances.
Nothing separated the two sides until Toone managed to improvise a 54th-minute overhead kick after a scramble in the box and United looked set for their third league victory in a row.
But Svitkova, who has provided more assists than any other West Ham player this season, generated a number of chances in added time to eventually produce the equaliser when Fisk's back header ricocheted off the post and past Mary Earps.
United face Everton on Saturday 27 March, while City face the same opposition on Wednesday 23 March as each hope to secure a place in next season's Champions League.
The WSL takes a break this weekend for the FA Cup, where West Ham take on Ipswich.
