Ed Upson & Michael Bostwick: Stevenage sign Newport midfielder and Burton defender
- Published
Stevenage have re-signed former favourite Michael Bostwick on loan from Burton Albion to add the arrival of midfielder Ed Upson from Newport.
Bostwick, 33, helped Boro win promotion from the National League to League One, and also scored to knock Newcastle out of the FA Cup in 2011.
Upson, 32, has signed a permanent deal, also until the end of the season.
He has played more than 370 Football League games for Yeovil, Millwall, MK Dons and Bristol Rovers.
The return of Bostwick, who spent time at Peterborough, Lincoln and Burton after his exit from Broadhall Way, comes after he made 10 appearances for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Brewers in 2021-22.
Upson has featured 19 times for Newport this season but has not played since a 1-1 draw at Crawley on 23 November.
Meanwhile, West Ham have recalled goalkeeper Joseph Anang from a season-long loan with Stevenage.
Anang has played 18 times for Paul Tisdale's side this term but has acted as back-up to Adam Smith in recent weeks.
Strugglers Stevenage, 22nd in the table, have already brought in goalkeeper Christy Pym and defender Luke O'Neill during the January transfer window, with Upson and Bostock taking the tally of signings to four.
