St Mirren have completed the loan signings of Alex Gogic and Jordan Jones until the end of the season but sold Jamie McGrath to Wigan Athletic.

Gogic, 27, who can play in midfield and defence, has joined from Hibernian where he was out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Former Rangers and Kilmarnock winger Jones, 27, swaps clubs with McGrath.

The Latics have signed the Republic of Ireland international, 25, for an undisclosed fee.

And striker Kristian Dennis has left Paisley for Carlisle United.

McGrath, who joined St Mirren from Dundalk in January 2020, had been the subject of transfer speculation that saw him miss several games this month.

He has signed a deal to 2024 with the League One club, who have also signed Glen Rea on loan from Luton.

January business

St Mirren have now made three January signings after New Zealand forward Alex Greive signed an 18-month deal.

Cypriot Gogic has made 52 appearances for Hibs since signing from Hamilton in July 2020.

Northern Ireland winger Jones has scored 15 goals in 187 club games and netted once in 12 Northern Ireland appearances.

"Jordan knows the Premiership really well up here," said St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin.

"He tore it up with Kilmarnock and then got a big move to Rangers. He gives us something that we have been missing all season, which is that real injection of pace and creativity at the top end."

Meanwhile, St Mirren midfielder Kyle McAllister has joined Partick Thistle on loan for the rest of the season.
