Wednesday's Old Firm derby will come "too soon" for Rangers' deadline-day signing Aaron Ramsey, says Ibrox manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The Juventus midfielder, 31, has penned a six-month loan deal with the Scottish Premiership leaders, who visit nearest challengers Celtic this midweek.
Ramsey has not played any football since scoring a brace for Wales in a 5-1 win against Belarus in mid-November.
"I expect him [Ramsey] in the squad in the near future," Van Bronckhorst said.
"To be able to bring in a player like Aaron is great and a lot of hard work from Ross Wilson made it possible."
The ex-Arsenal man has not featured for his parent Serie A side since making a substitute appearance in the Champions League in October.
The move to Glasgow should open the door for more game time for the Wales international, who told the Rangers website, external "there is so much to look forward to between now and May".
"I had a number of offers on the table," the Cardiff City youth product added. "But none matched the magnitude of this club, with European football and the chance to play in front of 50,000 fans every other week."
Meanwhile, Rangers have signed Mateusz Zukowski from Lechia Gdansk for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
Zukowski's arrival on a three-and-a-half-year contract comes four weeks on from fellow right-back Nathan Patterson's £12m move to Everton.
Winger Amad Diallo joined Rangers on loan from Manchester United last week, scoring on his debut in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Ross County, and James Sands arrived on an 18-month loan from New York City, with a view to a permanent move.
Van Bronckhorst has lost midfielder Ianis Hagi to injury for the rest of the season. Jermain Defoe departed, with fellow striker Cedric Itten recalled from a loan at Greuther Furth.
