Championship promotion hopefuls Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough shared the points in an entertaining draw at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
Ilias Chair gave the home side the lead with a delightful curler before Dael Fry equalised for the visitors in first-half stoppage time.
The Hoops were then ahead again within 15 seconds of the restart after former QPR keeper Joe Lumley gifted the ball to ex-team-mate Chris Willock to tap home.
Albert Adobah, a former Boro winger, then turned the ball into his own net to level the score again.
The away side pushed to take the lead for the first time in the match but it finished all-square, with QPR staying fourth and Middlesbrough up to seventh in the table.
Boro started well, forcing Hoops keeper David Marshall into a couple of early saves, but found themselves behind against the run of play.
Willock found Morocco midfielder Chair on the edge of the area and, after taking one touch, he whipped a curling right foot shot around Marshall into the bottom corner.
Boro pushed for an equaliser as the game crept towards half-time and were rewarded for their pressure two minutes into added time. Captain Jonny Howson's deflected effort fell to centre-back Fry, who placed the ball into the bottom right corner.
The home side made a dream start to the second half when Willock latched onto a loose pass from the under-pressure Lumley, who only moved to Teesside in the summer after 11 years with the R's, and slotted in.
Boro twice went close through Andraz Sporar before hapless Hoops defender Adomah levelled the score with an own goal, turning in Isaiah Jones' cross.
Boro substitute Payero Martin required oxygen after sustaining what looked like a nasty ankle injury late on. He had earlier replaced Matt Crooks, who went off with a head injury.
QPR are now unbeaten in seven Championship games and three points behind second-placed Bournemouth while Boro are only outside the play-offs on goal difference.
QPR boss Mark Warburton told BBC Radio London:
"We were below our best tonight and we were fortunate to get a point.
"I thought we started slowly and lost too many duels and challenges, they had two good challenges early on.
"We get the goal, [the equaliser was a] soft one to give away before half-time.
"It was two teams pushing hard at the top and they are the moments when you're not at your best and still get something out of the game, that's a vitally important point for us."
Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder:
"That's a collective mistake [Joe Lumley's error] because there were two or three situations before Joe's.
"One mistake led to two, led to three, and Joe obviously takes the rap for that. But he really shouldn't because there were various opportunities (to clear the ball).
"The goalkeeper makes a mistake, let's get on with it. Everyone makes mistakes.
"It was a collective mistake because we should first spin the ball down the side and then go forward, but we invited them on and then the mistake happened. But it shouldn't have got to that situation."
