Wrexham secured their place in the FA Trophy quarter-finals with a comfortable 3-0 win over FA Cup giantkillers Boreham Wood.

Ollie Palmer's header from debutant Callum McFadzean's cross put Wrexham ahead amid terrible weather conditions at the Racecourse.

Jordan Davies' exquisite left-footed shot doubled the home side's advantage.

An Aaron Hayden header, his sixth goal of the season, sealed Wrexham's place in Monday's draw for the last eight.

Boreham Wood, who knocked Bournemouth out of the FA Cup last weekend, suffered their first loss in 18 games in all competitions.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson:

"I thought it was a very professional performance sprinkled with quality in there in terms of the goals.

"In difficult conditions we showed some real patches of quality and when we did we looked like we could create chances and get goals, which we ultimately did.

"Today was about reacting to last week and performing well."
