Millwall came from 2-0 down to win a five-goal thriller at The Den - and continue Coventry City's winless start to the new campaign.
City led after just two minutes through Kyle McFadzean, and then doubled their lead on 28 minutes thanks to Matt Godden.
But Jake Cooper got one back for Gary Rowett's Lions nine minutes before the break and George Honeyman levelled seven minutes after the restart.
The Sky Blues then had to play a man short for the final half hour after Gustavo Hamer's red card reduced the visitors to 10 men - and Millwall capitalised when George Saville hit an 85th-minute winner.
Coventry, who drew at Sunderland on the opening day of the season, have had their season badly disrupted since.
Having had last week's opening game called off because of the dubious state of their pitch after too much Commonwealth Games rugby on it, they then switched their midweek Carabao Cup tie to Burton Albion - and lost heavily.
But they made a dream start when McFadzean got on the end of a Hamer corner, flicked on by Godden.
Jake Bidwell then went down the left to set up the second with a deep cross, which Godden got on the end of to steer it back across the face and into the far corner.
But Millwall got one back on 36 minutes from defender Cooper, his first goal since March, after an error from Simon Moore.
The City keeper came to claim Scott Malone's floated free-kick, but captain Cooper rose highest and headed into an empty net from the edge of the box.
The home side were then level on 53 minutes when an effort from Tyler Burey, on as a first-half sub for Mason Bennett, was turned on to the post - and Honeyman found the bottom right corner with the rebound from close range.
Hamer was then angrily red-carded after being late with a challenge on Burey on 67 minutes, to earn his second yellow. And Saville completed the turnaround when he curled a low shot beyond Moore's reach.
Millwall now face two challenging away fixtures at Swansea and Norwich without Bennett, who will be out for an extended period with a hamstring injury.
Coventry, meanwhile, have already had this Tuesday's home game with Wigan Athletic called off, and now face an uncertain week wondering whether next Saturday's home date with Huddersfield will also be postponed.
Millwall boss Gary Rowett:
"Young Tyler Burey was outstanding when he came on. He was our best player by a million miles.
"With a change of formation, he feels it's difficult for him to show his best quality. But this proves how he could do it. He's got real talent. He just gave us a spark when we looked like we needed something.
"It was a great spectacle for anyone who was a neutral, but for me it was bloody awful. We're never going to be a team who's going to control a game with beautiful possession, but we've got grit, we've got aggression and we've got determination."
Coventry City boss Mark Robins told BBC CWR:
"We made a good start, got a good goal, had the impetus and then got a second goal which was really well-worked.
"Then we go and shoot ourselves in the foot. Their first goal was a soft one. Simon Moore knows he shouldn't have come for it. He can just catch it on his line.
"It turned the crowd back on and put us on the back foot. And we have to deal with it better mentally than we did. Then came the red card at 2-2 and, in this heat, it kills you. The two bookings are avoidable and he's definitely let us down, there's no two ways about it. It cost us the game
[On the Coventry Building Society Arena surface]"We need a football pitch. It's the stadium that was built for us and we can't play there. It's an utter disgrace that we're at this point in time. People need to get round a table quickly and just get it sorted. There's a lot of procrastinating going on, people saying, 'It's not my fault, it's not my fault'."
