Forest Green Rovers 0-1 Charlton Athletic

Corey Blackett-Taylor scored a first-half winner as Charlton beat League One bottom club Forest Green with a narrow 1-0 win.

Striker Blackett-Taylor claimed his sixth goal of the season in the 12th minute as Charlton edged their sorry hosts.

Crystal Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sayki sent in a low cross from the right and the winger's ball defected into the path of Blackett-Taylor, who fired it home from eight yards to make it five wins from seven games for the Addicks.

Blackett-Taylor should have netted a second just before the break, but dragged his low shot wide of the near post from 12 yards after drifting in from the left.

Rovers felt they should have been awarded a penalty after 57 minutes when midfielder Myles Peart-Harris was up-ended in the box by opposite number Gavin Kilkenny, but - despite protests - play was waved on.

Just after the hour mark, Rovers striker Amadou Bakayoko was left holding his head in his hands after nodding over from eight yards but the visitors held on.

The result leaves Forest Green seven points from safety at the foot of the table with only two points from their last 11 games.
