East Fife 0-1 Clyde: Visitors end 19-game wait for away win to lead after play-off first leg
- Published
Clyde ended a run of 19 away games without a victory to take a narrow advantage into Saturday's second leg of their Scottish League 1 Play-off semi-final against East Fife.
Striker Martin Rennie's close-range finish eight minutes after the break was enough to secure victory for the visitors in Methil.
But the side who finished second bottom of League 1 survived a late flurry as midfielder Jack Healy was denied by the crossbar and a save from goalkeeper Ryan Mullen.
East Fife, who finished fourth in League 2, lost three of their four meetings with Clyde last season as they were relegated but must change that trend when they visit Hamilton on Friday if they are to retain hopes of a swift return.
