Alex Iacovitti: Port Vale sign former Ross County defender

Port Vale have signed defender Alex Iacovitti following his exit from Scottish Premiership side Ross County.

Iacovitti, 25, who has agreed a two-year deal, becomes Vale's third summer signing following the arrival of Cardiff City midfielder Tom Sang and Morecambe goalkeeper Connor Ripley.

He had spent three years with Ross, scoring 12 goals in 116 appearances.

After starting his career at Nottingham Forest, Iacovitti moved to Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2019.

He has also had loan spells at Mansfield and Forest Green.

"He is fearless and loves to defend," Vale manager Andy Crosby told the club website., external "He is also a major threat in attacking set-play situations and has the ability to score goals.

"He has the drive and determination we want to see in our players and he will be a great addition on and off the pitch."
