Haverfordwest qualified for the European Conference League via the Cymru Premier play-offs after finishing seventh in the table

Haverfordwest County lost against North Macedonian side Shkendija on their return to European football after an absence stretching back to 2004.

Forward Adenis Shala struck after the break for the North Macedonian side in the Europa Conference League first qualifying round tie.

Tony Pennock's team beat Newtown in May's Cymru Premier European play-off final to reach Europe.

The return leg will be at Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday, 20 July

Shkendija, a professional outfit, finished third in their domestic league last season and are European regulars, who beat leading Welsh club The New Saints 5-4 on aggregate in 2018-19.
