Newport County came from behind to beat League One Charlton Athletic 3-1 in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
The Addicks dominated the opening half at Rodney Parade and led through Daniel Kanu's 43rd-minute effort.
But League Two outfit Newport improved in the second half and levelled through Aaron Wildig.
Will Evans and Seb Palmer-Houlden both struck late to give Graham Coughlan's side a first win of the campaign and see them into the second round.
An upset initially looked unlikely as Charlton, who had won their league opener on Saturday, bossed possession from the outset and created a pair of chances early on, as Nick Townsend denied Kanu before Panutche Camara headed Tayo Edun's cross over from close range.
Jack Payne then dragged a shot wide midway through the first half as it continued to be one-way traffic.
Newport defended resolutely and registered their first effort on target in the 39th minute when debutant Josh Seberry headed straight at Harry Isted from Wildig's corner.
But Charlton's superiority showed two minutes before half-time as Edun's cut-back found substitute Tyreece Campbell, whose driven strike was prodded into the net by Kanu.
The hosts came within a whisker of levelling immediately after the restart when Charlton failed to clear from a corner, although Harry Charsley's effort struck the crossbar.
They did make it 1-1 shortly after the hour mark though, as Palmer-Houlden won possession high up the pitch before Charsley found Wildig who coolly slotted beyond Isted.
Karoy Anderson and Charlie Kirk both fired over from distance either side of Palmer-Houlden's low driven shot as both sides went in search of a winner.
Substitute Matty Bondswell, just two minutes after replacing Wildig, picked out Evans who lashed home to put Newport ahead in the 76th minute.
Palmer-Houlden added his side's third four minutes later to earn County their first win of the season.
Newport County boss Graham Coughlan: "I'm really pleased and I'm delighted for the lads, they've had a tough couple of weeks. It's not been easy.
"The fans were unbelievable tonight as well, even when we went 1-0 down, the way they got behind us.
"I'm trying to explain the club, the DNA and its principles to some of the new players, I don't think I have to explain it after tonight. I think they've fully got it and they know what the fans expect of them."
Charlton Athletic boss Dean Holden: "We got ourselves into a good position with the goal just before half-time. We had them exactly where we wanted them. As comfortable as we were, there were still too many basic errors.
"To go from where we were at 1-0 to end up losing the game 3-1 is really disappointing.
"I think there's potentially a mentality issue there, we need to stamp our authority on the game and take it away from them. We didn't do it and you get punished."
