Colchester United have re-signed Owura Edwards from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee and brought in Jay Mingi and Charlton's Zak Mitchell.
Edwards, 22, scored three goals in 13 appearances for the U's during a loan spell in the 2021-22 campaign.
Midfielder Mingi, 22, has signed a two-year contract after leaving Portsmouth earlier this summer.
Addicks defender Zach Mitchell, 18, has joined the League Two club on loan for the rest of the season.
The teenager has made a total of 11 senior appearances for the south-east London club since making his debut in November last year.
Mingi featured 26 times for Pompey last season, but the last of those was on New Year's Day.
Edwards, who played four senior games for Bristol City and spent last season on loan at Ross County, has agreed a two-year deal with Colchester.
The U's have also signed ex-Nottingham Forest forward Yassine En-Neyah, but sent him on loan to Maldon & Tiptree.
He spent part of last season with non-league Truro City, making 14 appearances.
