Euro 2024: Follow Scotland's successful qualifying campaign in pictures

Two hundred and five days days after it started, it's mission accomplished for Scotland.

Who could have guessed after that nervy first half in Glasgow against Cyprus that seven months later Steve Clarke's team would already have a Euro 2024 spot nailed on?

While it may have flown by in a blur, how about we let the pictures tell the story of the seven (mostly) glorious games that take Scotland to Germany?

John McGinn's first-half goal had Scotland in control but the Tartan Army were getting antsy in the closing stages with just a one-goal lead

Have no fear, Scott McTominay is here. The midfielder climbed off the bench and dispatched strikes in the 87th and 93rd minute to put a fairer reflection on the scoreline. Turns out he was only just getting started...

28 March - Scotland 2-0 Spain

Hampden erupted as McTominay crashed in a deflected opener early on against the Group A heavyweights. Were the Scots about to stick it to the Spanish and secure one of their most famous results?

You bet they were. McTominay was the main man again, leathering a half-volley into the net early in the second half to spark bedlam in the stands. Even Steve Clarke raised a smile. What a night. What a team.

17 June - Norway 1-2 Scotland

Scotland were in the a bit of bother in Oslo. They trailed to Erling Haaland's penalty - just a 53rd goal of the season for the Man City striker - and were struggling to fashion anything remotely threatening as time ticked away

A late lifeline? Thanks very much, don't mind if we do. Leo Ostigard's error was seized upon by Lyndon Dykes to level it up and surely maintain Scotland's unbeaten start

Why settle for one point when you can pinch all three? In the 89th minute supersub Kenny McLean swept in Scotland's unlikely winner to snatch a scarcely-believable win and leave Norway utterly sickened

20 June - Scotland 2-0 Georgia

Ach, it's probably just a shower, it'll go off soon. Those thoughts were soon washed away amid farcical scenes at Hampden as downpours caused a 90-minute delay to kick-off and George tried in vain to get the game called off

Scotland maintained their 100% record with a straightforward win courtesy of strikes from Callum McGregor - which came prior to the delay - and that man McTominay. Singing in the rain, what a glorious feeling, we're happy again

8 September - Cyprus 0-3 Scotland

Scott McTominay netted to settle any early nerves in Larnaca, then Ryan Porteous and John McGinn struck as the Scots had a potentially tricky assignment done and dusted within half an hour

12 October - Spain 2-0 Scotland

Scotland only needed a point in Seville to secure their finals place. It was all going rather well as McTominay whipped a humdinger of a free-kick whipped into the top corner. The Tartan Army went wild, the referee trotted to the pitchside monitor for a VAR check. Much confusion later, the goal was lopped off. A right sair yin

Rubbing salt in the wounds, Alvaro Morata headed Spain in front and they added a late second with Ryan Porteous' own goal as Scotland slipped to a first defeat in Group A after five straight wins. Still, qualification was tantalisingly close...

15 October - Norway 0-1 Spain

The Seville controversy still stung, but every Scotland fan was cheering on Spain in Oslo. Anything other than a Norway victory and the Scots were guaranteed to go the Euros. Step forward Gavi with Spain's second-half winner. Job done - Scotland are going to Germany!

Scotland fans were celebrating everywhere, including in this pub in Lille. The Tartan Army had gathered for the friendly with the French on Tuesday, but a few will no doubt will still be partying by the time that game kicks off
