Wide men Josh Koroma and Sorba Thomas provided each other with goals to give the Terriers two wins on the trot.

Huddersfield followed up last week's win at West Brom with a victory that leaves Rotherham with one win from six.

Defeat means the Millers, who flirted with relegation last season, are without an away win in 16 games.

Both sides registered their first wins of the season last time out, with Rotherham shocking promotion hopefuls Norwich.

The odds favoured the Terriers however, as Rotherham went into the game having won just one and drawn two of their previous 17 league visits to the John Smith's Stadium.

It took Huddersfield just 18 minutes to rub salt in that wound, as Cohen Bramall slipped and went down injured, with Thomas racing away with the ball. With Rotherham players appealing for the game to be stopped, Thomas carried on and when his first cross was blocked, he picked out Koroma at the far post for a simple finish.

The two players who scored the goals against Norwich a fortnight ago combined as the Millers sought to strike back, Dexter Lembikisa crossing for Jordan Hugill to head over.

It always looked as though Huddersfield would add to their tally, however, as former Rotherham man Ben Wiles had a shot deflected wide after good work by the influential Mainz loanee Delano Burgzorg.

Lee Nicholls kept Town's noses in front shortly into the second half, brilliantly clawing away Fred Onyedinma's powerful header, and then Burgzorg had one attempt superbly blocked by Oliver Rathbone and then squandered another.

Neil Warnock's side sealed it with 20 minutes to go, with the two wide players reversing their roles, Koroma crossing to the far post for Thomas to net.

Huddersfield manager Neil Warnock told BBC Radio Leeds:

"It was well-deserved. We had to work so hard against a Rotherham side that beat Norwich in their last home game.

"We knew if we competed with them, we had enough in our locker to create problems, and we did.

"I had a look at Rotherham and I had a feeling that Josh Koroma and Sorbs could do the job I wanted them to do. For them to get goals as well, I guess I'm just a lucky manager.

[On rumours about his future]: "I'm ever so proud of what we've achieved here. We have a press conference on Monday at one o'clock.

"It [social media] said it was my last game, so that's wrong, isn't it? I've enjoyed every minute here and am not prepared to talk about it tonight.

"Of course I will [be here for the Stoke game on Wednesday]. I want to win, I want to beat Stoke. I'm just enjoying my football, the crowds and the atmosphere, and when I see the lads put in a performance like that."

Rotherham manager Matt Taylor told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"The first goal epitomises where we are at the moment. You might say we were a bit unlucky but we played a huge part in that. We had the opportunity to clear the ball on numerous occasions, had a man down and didn't see out that moment.

"You play to the whistle. My only complaint is that we had opportunities to see out the danger and get back to a stronger defensive shape quicker than we did.

"We conceded too many counter-attacks in that first half. In the second half we were second-best too often. The ball went through the team too often.

"We had some good attacking moments at 1-0, hit the crossbar, and forced the keeper to make a save, but didn't have the execution and concentration to get back in it. The second goal killed us - out of nothing, a long ball and we are chasing the space to defend."
