Goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo says his time at Exeter City is the most enjoyable he has had in his career.

The 21-year-old, who is on a season's loan from Aston Villa, has featured in 10 of Exeter's 11 English Football League (EFL) games this season.

He also helped the League One club beat Premier League side Luton Town 1-0 to reach the Carabao Cup fourth round.

"I'm arguably enjoying my football the most I've ever enjoyed it during my short career so far," he said.

"It's my sixth year in England now - time's flown by, it's gone in the click of your fingers," he added to BBC Radio Devon.

"I'm still young - I'm 22 next week - so long may it continue. I've had six years over here now and hopefully another six years."

Sinisalo is in Finland's squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovenia and Kazakhstan as he aims to add to his sole cap for his country.

"Hopefully I've got a long career ahead of me in that sense as well," he said.

"Hopefully I'll be able to play for Finland as much as I can, but you've got to be performing at club level to have a chance to do that.

"So I've just got to focus on my week-to-week life and playing well every Saturday and Tuesday - that's what gets you in the national team in the end, and once you get in then it's about staying in it."
