Jonny Le Quesne's goal ensured Jersey Bulls have taken 22 from a possible 24 points

Jersey Bulls extended their unbeaten run to eight games after a 1-0 win over Cobham at Springfield.

Jonny Le Quesne's 81st-minute strike was the difference between the two sides after James Carr had hit the visitors' bar in the first half as Bulls created chances.

The win - a seventh with a clean sheet in eight games - kept Jersey top of Combined Counties Premier South.

They are four points clear of Farnham, who have four games in hand.

Third-placed Knaphill - who like Farnham have only played seven matches - lead a pack of three sides who are a further two points adrift.

"Ideally we'd have got that goal earlier and might have had a comfortable afternoon," Bulls manager Gary Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"I'm pleased for the lads that have come on because some fresh legs have given us a bit of impetus and raised the levels.

"It's tough taking off people like Jack Boyle and Luke Watson, who in the back of your mind you think have always got a goal in them," he added.

"But Francis (Lekimamati) came on, Miguel (Carvalho) came on and we moved Jonny up, and that bit of energy in there, Jonny's energy around there just gave us that boost."
