Wigan are second bottom in League One, six points adrift of safety

Wigan Athletic have been fined £6,000 for surrounding the referee in their defeat at Burton on Tuesday, 3 October.

The incident occurred in the 84th minute of the Latics' 2-1 loss, when the home side were awarded a penalty.

Wigan admitted they failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper way.

Shaun Maloney's men, who started the season with an eight-point deduction, are winless in their past four league games.
