Women's Champions League: Wolfsburg in shock qualifying loss to Paris FC
- Published
Last season's Women's Champions League runners-up Wolfsburg suffered a shock loss in the second round of qualifying on Wednesday as Paris FC reached the group stage for the first time.
In an eventful game, following on from the 3-3 first-leg draw in France, both sides missed penalties.
The visitors took a deserved victory through neat finishes from Julie Dufour and Louise Fleury.
Paris will find out their group-stage opponents in Friday's draw.
They have certainly earned their place in it, having knocked out two of last season's semi-finalists in qualifying - first Arsenal and now Wolfsburg.
It continues what has been a stellar start to the season for a side who have won all four of their league games so far to sit second in the French top flight behind Lyon.
Wolfsburg are by far their biggest scalp, though, with the two-time winners boasting some stellar talent in their side, including German international Alexandra Popp.
