Swindon Town defender Tariq Uwakwe is set to be out for between two and four months with a knee injury.

The 23-year-old joined the Robins this summer from Crewe and has made 11 appearances in all competitions.

Uwakwe, who can also play in midfield, was on the bench for Swindon's most recent two league games.

"I'm just waiting to find out the extent of it but it's not looking good," head coach Michael Flynn told BBC Radio Wiltshire.

"It could be eight to 16 weeks I would say. It's [his] lateral ligament, so just waiting for him to see a specialist on that.

"How he did it, as well, is completely innocuous, so yes, it's a bit of a strange one."
