Forest Green striker Matty Taylor is due to be out for six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 33-year-old scored his first goal for the club this season in their 5-0 win over Colchester United last weekend.

Taylor has played in 12 of Forest Green's 13 League Two games this campaign and suffered the injury during a training session.

Forest Green are due to play third-placed Mansfield away on Saturday.

"He was training really well and after his goal on the weekend was full of enthusiasm," head coach David Horseman told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"Unfortunately he made a run in training, felt his hamstring, had a scan and it's six to eight weeks - we hope more [close to] six."
