Daniel Ayala: Rotherham United sign former Middlesbrough and Blackburn defender

Daniel Ayala made 56 league appearances in three seasons with Blackburn Rovers

Rotherham have signed ex-Middlesbrough and Blackburn defender Daniel Ayala on a deal until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old Spaniard was a free agent after leaving Rovers at the end of last season.

He could make his debut in Sunday's derby at fellow Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.

"It's been hard to not have a team and be training on my own so I'm delighted to be here and I can't wait to get started," he told the club website.
