Hungary 3-2 Northern Ireland: 'Proud but disappointed' - Oxtoby on late defeat

Tanya Oxtoby says her Northern Ireland side are "really disappointed we let it slip" after conceding in the 94th minute to lose to Hungary in the Nations League in Gyor.
Late goals by substitutes Caragh Hamilton and Simone Magill twice brought NI level after a slow start.
However, Hanna Nemeth poked home a last-minute winner for the hosts.
"We showed great resilience a couple of times but we have to see the game out," Oxtoby said.
Hungary made a fast start in Gyor and took a well-deserved, yet somewhat fortunate lead when Viktoria Szabo's cross evaded Shannon Turner in goal to give the hosts the lead in the 18th minute.
Substitute Hamilton headed home in the 81st minute with her first touch but Dora Sule fired in from 35 yards two minutes later.
Simone Magill equalised again with a penalty in the 89th minute after Sarah McFadden was fouled, but Nemeth touched in a 94th-minute free-kick for the hosts.
"From our point of view, we were really disappointed with the start that we made and the group knows that, we have spoken about it," added Oxtoby, who is taking charge of her second international window as Northern Ireland manager.
"It's something we need to continue to work on. When we get ourselves into the game and start to work the ball then we look good.
"We need to build on that and we need to do that a little more consistently. We need to make sure we do it right from the start of games and we don't give ourselves a bit of a hill to climb."
'A squad effort'
Oxtoby did praise the efforts of her starting team and substitutes as both Hamilton and Magill made an impact off the bench.
"I'm first and foremost really proud of the players in terms of the determination that they showed, and their flexibility in terms of the tweaks and changes that we made.
"From our point of view, I think you can tell by both teams' reactions, with our disappointment and their jubilation, how tight the game was.
"We talk a lot about how it takes an entire squad, and we don't just talk about it, we act on it.
"We spoke before the game, you look at the state of the pitch and the conditions, and it was going to take a squad effort.
"The starters put in a great shift. We felt like we needed a little bit more off the bench and Caragh and Simone injected that. I thought they were fantastic, as you would expect.
"We're really disappointed that we let it slip but we get another opportunity to play them again at home now so we have to look forward and focus on that."
