Scottish Cup second round: Jeanfield & Dunbar shock League 2 sides
- Published
Sixth-tier sides Jeanfield Swifts and Dunbar United pulled off Scottish Cup shocks as they knocked out League Two opposition in the second round.
Jeanfield battered a sorry Elgin City, who currently sit bottom of the fourth tier, as the East of Scotland Premier Division side scored four first-half goals in a remarkable 6-0 win.
Meanwhile, it was East Fife who fell to Dunbar in East Lothian, courtesy of Dean Whitson's penalty on the stroke of half-time.
Dumbarton seemed to be doomed for a similar humbling at the hands of Banks O'Dee as the Highland League side took a two-goal lead, but Stephen Farrell's side launched a sensational comeback, scoring in the 96th and 102nd minute in a 3-2 win.
Stenhousemuir were also dumped out by non-league opposition, as Brora Rangers - who famously knocked out Hearts in 2021 - travelled back north with a place in the third round.
In an all-Lowland League affair, leaders East Kilbride were humbled by Tranent as Cameron Ross scored four goals in a 7-0 thumping.
The weekend's final tie between Musselburgh and Clyde is live on BBC Scotland and the BBC Sport website on Monday (19:45 GMT).
