Shaun Maloney: Wigan Athletic boss says side cannot expect to turn up and win

Wigan Athletic boss Shaun Maloney says his side cannot assume they only have to turn up to win after they lost 3-2 at home to Charlton Athletic.
The Latics went 3-0 down in the first half against the Addicks before mounting a comeback late in the game.
The defeat, which was Charlton's first away league win this season, came after Wigan had won three straight games.
"In the club from top to bottom, we can't take our foot off the gas and that starts with me," Maloney said.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "If we ever think we can just turn up to a game and win without given absolutely 100% and the right mentality then we're going to find ourselves getting hurt a lot.
"It's my job as a manager and that's why I take responsibility, that I have to make sure that first halves like that cannot happen."
Wigan started the League One season with an eight-point deduction and although they reached positive points within four games, their form soon tailed off.
A run of one win in seven games followed as the club hovered around the bottom of the table, but successive wins against Exeter, Oxford and Shrewsbury preceded Tuesday's disheartening defeat by Charlton.
"I take full responsibility for that first half because I could sense it before the game," Maloney added.
"If we've got people paying to travel to come and watch us, I've got a responsibility to give them the utmost respect by preparing as best we can to win any game."
