Erol Bulut says he wants to add three or four players to his Cardiff City squad in January.

The Bluebirds recruited nine players in the summer and are sixth in the Championship after 14 matches of the 2023-24 season.

"Financially, we are working to see what we can do," said Bulut.

"If we can, I would like to have three or four more players. We don't have the biggest squad in the Championship. So we have to do something in the market."

He added: "I think we will do something in January."

Bulut also said he expects "two or three" players to leave the club in the winter transfer window.

The Bluebirds were unable to pay fees for players in the summer after being placed under an EFL embargo because they defaulted on payment of the transfer fee for the late Emiliano Sala.

But they will be allowed to spend in the upcoming window after the duration of their embargo was reduced in June.

Meanwhile, Bulut has no fresh injury concerns for his side's league trip to Stoke City on Saturday.

Yakou Meite and Kion Etete are available to face the Potters, although Aaron Ramsey and Callum O'Dowda remain sidelined.

The Cardiff boss said Ramsey and O'Dowda are "not at the level" to be available for Wales and Republic of Ireland duty respectively later this month.

"I think as fans, they can be involved and watch the games - I don't think they can play," added Bulut.

"I would hope they could play, but they are not at the level right now. They still need a little bit more time.

"With Aaron, it looks like he will be back earlier than how we were expecting.

"O'Dowda will need more time, but right now they are both doing well."

Elsewhere, Bulut says the Bluebirds hope left-back Jamilu Collins - who is out of contract next summer - will sign a new deal with the club.

"JC is doing well so of course, we want to renew the contract," Bulut said.

"Our guys are still talking with his agent and him. I think soon maybe we will get an agreement."
