Plymouth Argyle manager Steven Schumacher says he will not change his side's attacking ethos after their 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough.

The 26 goals they have scored this season is the highest outside the top two in the Championship.

But only three teams have conceded more goals than the 25 let in by Argyle.

"We always say to the players to try and be positive and get on the front foot, try and enjoy the game and try and be exciting," Schumacher said.

"I know at times that's going to leave us open and at times I know we can defend better and make less errors, but we've also got to remember the players that we've got and not many of them have played at this level.

"We've got nowhere near as much experience as what Middlesbrough have or loads of other Championship teams.

"We're getting better and we can only learn and develop, so that's what I want them to do, that's what I believe in and hopefully that's what our fans like to see."

The Pilgrims scored three or more goals for the fifth time in the league this season including two excellent first-half goals from Bali Mumba and Finn Azaz.

"If that's a Premier League team scoring those two goals it gets spoken about for ages and ages and that's what I try and say to the lads, that they need to believe in themselves because they have got that ability," Schumacher told BBC Radio Devon.

"If we can show it more often and be more clinical, even in those first minutes when we had an unbelievable move and Bali Mumba gets in, if that goes in it's three outstanding goals in the first half, but he didn't score it when he should.

"But I'm pleased for him that he did manage to get a goal because he needed it."
