Brennan Johnson has returned to the Wales squad after injury to boost the team's bid to reach Euro 2024.

The Tottenham forward, along with captain Aaron Ramsey, missed the October win against Croatia that turned around Wales' campaign.

Ramsey remains absent so defender Ben Davies retains the captaincy.

Wales will qualify for the European Championship if they win their last two Group D games against Armenia and Turkey later this month.

Robert Page's side tackle Armenia in Yerevan on Saturday, 18 November, then face group leaders Turkey three days later in Cardiff.

"We want to win both games to qualify. It's in our hands. We want two wins. We might not need two wins, but that's what we are after," Wales boss Page told BBC Sport Wales.

"I firmly believe and the players do, that if we play the way we can, we can get the results."

Joe Morrell returns after suspension, while former Nottingham Forest attacker Johnson is back after the blow of suffering a hamstring injury on his first Spurs start, a 2-2 draw at north London rivals Arsenal on 24 September.

Page says he is pleased to have Johnson as an option to add to his forward line.

"We had a few injuries in the last camp," he said. "We want to continue the momentum we continued with in the last camp.

"There is competition for places, we've always said we want that, it's a good problem to have.

"Brennan is proving at club level he can play a multitude of positions.

"Off the back of the last game seven of the 11 weren't playing for their club, but that's changed dramatically.

"From a conditioning point of view it's good, we don't need time to get them up to speed."

Manager Page has also handed a debut call to Sunderland defender and former Wales Under-21s international Niall Huggins.

Page had been under huge pressure following defeats by Armenia and Turkey early in the qualification campaign, on the back of a disappointing World Cup.

But victory over Croatia means Wales are now second in the group, six points behind Turkey, but with a game in hand.

Croatia are level with Wales on 10 points, but Page's team would finish ahead of the 2018 World Cup finalists based on head-to-head results if the teams finish tied in a qualifying place in the group standings.

"We have to build on one of the best results in my tenure against Croatia," he added.

"We could have scored more goals against Croatia, that was the pleasing thing.

"If we can sustain that level of performance we will compete with the top teams time and time again."
