Queens Park Rangers: Former Birmingham City coach Xavier Calm named assistant manager

Queens Park Rangers have announced former Birmingham City coach Xavier Calm as their new assistant to manager Marti Cifuentes.
Fellow Spaniard Calm, 42, worked alongside Cifuentes in the sixth tier of Spanish football.
Calm himself managed UE Cornella, reaching the Segunda Division B play-offs in his two years in charge.
"We have a good balance and work well together," Cifuentes said.
"Xavi is a skilled coach when it comes to developing young players and he is very sharp on the pitch."
Calm, who started with Birmingham at under-23 level before working his way up to first-team coach in 2020, also worked with Cifuentes at Hammarby in Sweden.
"He has the extra plus that, as well as his experience in Spain and Sweden with me, he also knows the Championship," Cifuentes told the QPR website.
"We see football in a very similar way but he likes to look at the detail on the defensive phase while I usually like more to look forward, so in that sense we work well."
Cifuentes was appointed by the Championship club following the sacking of Gareth Ainsworth.
The 41-year-old's first match in charge of second-bottom Rangers ended in a 1-1 draw at Rotherham United.
