Portsmouth defender Regan Poole has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The 25-year-old Welshman suffered the injury in the opening minutes of Pompey's 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield in the FA Cup first round last week.

"Everyone's gutted for him," boss John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent.

"It's a massive blow because of how good he's been but we've got strength in depth."
